AEW has provided a storyline update on Tony Khan following the events of Dynamite.
During Collision, Tony Schiavone announced that Khan had suffered “multiple head and neck injuries” following The Elite’s attack on Wednesday, but would continue to run the show remotely in Jacksonville. It was also said that doctors had recommended that Khan not travel while recovering from his injury. Nigel McGuiness brought up the idea that if Khan wasn’t able to appear at AEW events, the shows would then have to be run by the EVPs, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.

The end of Wednesday’s show saw Jack Perry talk to Khan about his suspension and asked for Khan to lift it. The two seemingly came to terms and hugged. However, it was a swerve as Perry then attacked Khan, sending him to the ground. The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada then came out and acted concerned about what Perry had done. However, The Young Bucks then planted Khan with the Meltzer Driver. The end of the show saw the locker room, as well as Khan’s father Shad, come out to check on his condition.
In the days following the attack, Khan appeared on television wearing a neckbrace during the 2024 NFL Draft. During an interview on the NFL Network, he compared WWE to Harvey Weinstein.
